Parent Guidance/Coaching

At The Family Center, we maintain the highest standards of care when treating children. We understand that providing support to parents is a necessary and integral component of treating the child. Our family systems approach considers all aspects of a child’s life, including family dynamics. We strive to meet the needs of all family members; therefore, we often provide parents with education regarding diagnoses, referrals, school recommendations, and behavior modification techniques in order to promote generalization of skill from the therapist’s office to home, school, and the community.

In addition, The Family Center offers Live Parent Coaching via a 2-way mirror and a "bug in the ear" audio device. We call this program Parent Empowerment Training (PET). PET is used to assist parents of children ages 2 – 7 in communicating more effectively, establishing appropriate behavioral limits, and increasing behavioral compliance.
